Welcome to the IRC!
The International Residence College
is in its third year here at the University of Virginia.
We are comprised of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year students
from a variety of backgrounds and cultures. Over ¼
of our students are international, while the majority
resides in the U.S. Additionally, one of the residence
halls in the IRC is also home to the Mosaic
House.
We have tons of fun here,
mostly because we have so much support from the University
Community. We are affiliated with the International
Studies Office and the International
Center. Our community is also
strengthened by many terrific faculty who help us plan
just about anything we desire from academic courses
to fun social and service events. Just to give you an
idea of what we do here, last year under student run
leadership we ate Sunday suppers together, met famous
poet, made caramel apples, and went to Kings Dominion.
We'd love to have you join our community so online applications
are available here.
Mission Statement
The goal of IRC residents, as
members of a global community,
is to spread understanding of ourselves to all cultures
and to better ourselves and our community through exposure
and interaction with others.
We accomplish this through creating and supporting various
events and services for our residence halls, UVA, and
the town of Charlottesville while always having a rockin'
good time, international style.
