Social Highlights (2001-2002)

You will never lack a social life if you live in IRC. There were just so many activities going on around here that there's just not enough room to put them all here, but here are some exciting highlights:

Movie Nights: The classic Casablanca, the epic Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, the timeless Life Is Beautiful, to the always played Groundhog Day, it has all been broadcasted on the awesome entertainment system of the good ol' IRC.

Yoga: A little stretching with Marga. Now, our bodies are nice and limber.

Cooking Classes: We got tired of dining hall food, so we recruited some talented chefs among IRC to teach us a little about the kitchen while whipping up some stuff like French crepes, Indian curry, Japanese soba noodles, Chinese egg rolls, Spanish paella, "Virginia" crab cakes (trust us, Maryland's cannot compare!), and the good ol' ooey, gooey, caramel apples. Yumm!

Poetry Events: Bursting with deep and intellectual thoughts? Not all poetry rhymes, we learned. Where else can you meet Jimmy Santiago Baca?

Breakfast of Champions/Banquets: Free food, and did we say good food?

Parties/Dances: Yep, we got our groove on! Two parties (Masquerade Ball and Halloween Party), and only one costume necessary.

Adventure: Yeah, we got that! Hiking, ice skating, basketball, volleyball, and did we say, Kings Dominion?
