Exquisite Cuisine at the IRC
The IRC does not require its residents to
have a UVA meal plan. The IRC faculty and council provide various
dinners and food events throughout the year which the residents
take advantage of.
Breakfast of Champions:
Wednesday mornings, in the gathering place, there are
bagels, muffins, cereal, juices, tea, coffee and more that the residents
can eat before going to classes. During exams Breakfast of Champions
is provided every morning.
Suppers:
Every second Sunday the IRC provides dinner in the gathering place.
We hire outside caterers, which in include Café Europa and
Big Jims BBQ, among others. This casual atmosphere usually allows
residents to meet people they do not often see.
Ettiquette Dinners:
New this year, residents will be able to sign up for delicious meals
and learn how to use the correct cutlery at the same time. Everything
from when to unfold your napkin to how to cut your food, residents
will know how to fit in with the high society in future business
meetings and the like.
Banquets:
Three times a semester the IRC has a banquet at Alumni Hall.
They are all specially catered, have unique entertainment, and provide
for a perfect opportunity to meet everyone.
Cooking Classes:
If any resident wants to teach their favorite recipe for a small
group of people all they need to do is fill out a funding request
form and drop it off in the treasurer, Michael Lovinger's, mailbox.
The IRC council will gladly cover the costs!
Tea Time: Thursdays
at four o'clock come and sip a cup of tea and have a few snacks
before beginning your night work load.
In addition to these events, the IRC council
spontaneously plans food events, such as 11:07 Slackers Pizza.
